We have had numerous complaints about the firework ordinance and fireworks in general. I believe there has been a miscommunication with the concerned residents and the actual situation at hand. Yes the town of Log Lane Village has a firework ordinance that can be found in Sec 20-63. The ordinance does state that fireworks are prohibited but only fireworks that contain more than 16 milligrams of pyrotechnic composition per item.
We understand some of you have purchased fireworks from the neighboring town to celebrate the 4th of July. Not all fireworks are prohibited, if you read the ordinance, it defines which fireworks are acceptable and which ones are not. We do not allow large artillery shells to be discharged and if an officer stops, they could give you a warning and or cite you into court. We will be looking at amending the ordinance for the next year. We want you to have a safe holiday weekend and hope to see you at the town’s firework show.
